GBC manufactures a range of isocratic and quaternary gradient pumps for stand-alone or system operation for a wide range of HPLC applications
LC1150
The LC1150 is a high performance solvent delivery system with quaternary gradient and solvent blending capability. It features a sophisticated spindle driven variable stroke piston arrangement providing exceptional solvent delivery performance, operational reliability and optimal flow delivery. The advanced on-board computing automatically compensates for solvent compressibility and provides excellent flow with minimal pulsation and precision independent of system pressure.
It can be used as a stand-alone pump with full control and on-board diagnostics from a built-in keypad, or remotely controlled by a host computer in a fully automated system.
The LC1150 uses dual microprocessor control to match high speed proportioning with piston stroke volume, ensuring accurate and precise gradient formation with extended analytical flow range. The dual-serial piston chamber flow path facilitates efficient in-pump solvent mixing with minimal delay volume. This eliminates the necessity of a mixer and delivers sharp gradient formation, essential for high precision assay and improved method ruggedness.
LC1120
The LC1120 HPLC pump offers high performance solvent delivery for isocratic applications. It uses a modular stand-alone stackable compact design and can be readily integrated into any existing HPLC setup. The solvent-proof enhanced keyboard and back-lit LCD display ensure rapid instrument start-up and operation, with real-time display of operating conditions.
Comprehensive diagnostics and system log facilitates preventative maintenance scheduling. With built-in computer interface and optional oven control, the LC1120 can also be easily configured with other GBC HPLC modules, providing a complete HPLC system with single computer interface control.
The LC1120 can be upgraded to quaternary operation, offering a cost effective entry level to a future-proof HPLC system.
For the technically minded, the LC1120 uses a self-priming dual serial piston chamber configuration with built-in pulse damper and purge valve for maximum instrument reliability and assay sensitivity. The self-centering floating piston design reduces seal wear and simplifies seal changeover, while the double ball check valve cartridge design improves valve switching efficiency with extended flow performance and reliability.
GBC provides a comprehensive range of modular detectors suitable for connection into existing HPLC systems or, combined with other GBC modules, as fully integrated systems under single computer control.
The range includes:
LC1200 Variable Wavelength UV-Vis Detector
The high performance LC1200 is designed for standard HPLC applications requiring UV-Vis detection, and most suitable for QC and educational laboratories, offering a level of performance and versatility one would expect from much higher priced models. Flexible operation at single wavelengths within the range of 190–600 nm makes for versatility. For example, rather than being restricted to one or two wavelengths, you can use the LC1200 at 254 nm for the detection of aromatic compounds, improve sensitivity and selectivity for proteins, peptides, phenols and catecholamines at 280 nm, detect analytes of interest in the visible range, or monitor nitrate/nitrite and carboxylic acids at 200 nm.
LC1205k Programmable Variable Wavelength UV-Vis Detector
LC1205k Programmable Variable Wavelength UV-Vis Detector. The LC1205k is a high performance fully-featured detector for all applications requiring UV/Vis detection. It provides an extended variable wavelength selection range from 190 to 740 nm. The micro-processor controlled stepper motor permits fast and accurate wavelength switching, low-noise dual-wavelength operation and high speed “on-the-fly” spectral scanning. A wide selection of flow cells is available for analytical, bio-compatible capillary and preparative assays.
LC1210k Programmable Scanning Dual Wavelength UV-Vis Detector
The LC1210K is a high performance fully-featured detector for all applications requiring UV/Vis detection. It provides an extended variable wavelength selection range from 190 to 800 nm. LC1246k Refractive Index Detector
LC1246k Refractive Index Detector. A refractive index detector is an indispensable universal detector which permits the identification of analytes not easily detected by UV detectors. The LC1246k uses a beam deflection design with microprocessor control of flow-cell temperature for exceptional sensitivity and high stability.
Automatic compensation for baseline and peak fluctuations is achieved with patented electrical and auto-zero design. With a user-friendly keypad and LCD display, the LC1246k continuously monitors signal output and provides immediate visual feedback on detector performance and operation. For unattended operation, all detector controls can be interfaced with your integrator or data station.
LC1255s Programmable Scanning Fluorescence Detector
LC1255s Programmable Scanning Fluorescence Detector. A high sensitivity scanning fluorescence detector for fluorescence, phosphorescence and chemiluminescence, the LC1255s uses high-efficiency holographic diffraction gratings optimised for high sensitivity at both lower and higher excitation wavelengths. Selectivity can be adjusted with selectable slit widths. The pulsed xenon lamp provides a high energy level across the UV/Vis spectrum 200 – 600 nm (200 – 900 nm Option) and produces no harmful ozone. A wide dynamic range is made possible by 20-bit digital electronics. Time programming of both excitation and emission wavelengths allows optimised sensitivity and selectivity, while automatic real-time scanning of eluting peaks helps identify optimum wavelengths. Up to sixty spectra may be stored for display on the LCD display or played back to an external collection system. Pre-aligned lamp and flowcell simplifies operation.
The LC1650 Automated Chromatography Sample Introduction System (ACSIS) is a high performance auto sampler with extended sample throughput and fast robotic capability. It features some of the most advanced developments in liquid sample handling design for exceptional injection performance and operational reliability. A sapphire plunger self priming syringe in conjunction with a flow-through needle path eliminates dead volume ensuring excellent precision and linearity resulting in accurate and reliable assay results.
An unprecedented sample capacity of 160 standard (2 or 4 mL) vials is accessed by a x,y,z, robotic sample probe to perform sample dilution, internal standard addition, solvent extraction and pre-column derivatization with high precision as integral parts of the LC1650’s sample processing routines. A small footprint (34 cm of bench space) and an open view front access design facilitates fast sample loading and easy serviceability.
The LC1650’s advanced processing capabilities can be utilised as a stand-alone module through built-in keypad and backlit LCD display, or integrated into a complete HPLC system with single computer control. Built-in processing templates can be used for unattended batch analysis and pre-column sample preparation. A priority function enables urgent samples to interrupt batch mode analysis. The modular stand-alone format allows easy integration into any existing HPLC system, or combined with other GBC modules to provide a complete HPLC system with single computer control.
