The RTM 2300 is a state-of-the-art radon and thoron gas monitor characterized by its versatility, precision, and ease of use. Designed for demanding measurement tasks, it is ideal for use in workplace environments, mining, geophysical surveys, and for monitoring air, soil, and water samples. It is also an indispensable tool for public safety measurements and radiological environmental monitoring. Outstanding technology for precise results: The RTM 2300 uses alpha spectroscopy with four silicon detectors to precisely separate and quantify radon ([2222Rn]) and thoron ([2225Rn]), as well as their decay products. This technology prevents long-term contamination by lead-210 (215Pb), ensuring the instrument’s measurement accuracy and long-term stability. The processor-controlled rotary vane pump ensures efficient sampling, while the elimination of desiccant cartridges minimizes maintenance requirements.
The RTM 2300 can optionally be expanded with a gamma probe (NaI(Tl) detector), enabling 1024-channel MCA spectroscopy in the energy range from 25 keV to 3 MeV. This option allows dose rate measurement and the identification of specific nuclides.
Flexible sensors and add-ons: The device offers integrated sensors for humidity, temperature, pressure, and flow rate. Optional sensors for air, water, and process analysis, as well as wind measurements, are also available. With up to 16 programmable sampling cycles and 30 warning thresholds, the RTM 2300 adapts to your individual requirements.
Robust construction and intuitive operation: The RTM 2300 impresses with a touchscreen-based color display (6 x 9 cm) and extensive interfaces such as USB, RS232, RS485, and WLAN (optional). The collected data is stored on a 2 GB SD card and can be visualized and managed using dVISION software.
Accessories and calibration: Included in delivery are a carrying case, dust filter, calibration certificate (DAkkS-accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018), and more. Optional accessories include soil air probes, exhalation hoods, accessories for measuring radon in water samples, and water ingress protection.
Even in its basic configuration, the RTM 2200 is the ideal radon/thoron monitor for all types of radon measurements. Its outstanding features are particularly evident when it comes to solving complex measurement tasks. Thanks to its diverse connection options for additional sensors and actuators, multi-parameter measuring stations can be implemented quickly and with minimal effort. The RTM 2200 is not limited to the actual measurement but is also capable of controlling any equipment required for sampling.
By connecting additional radon chambers (soil gas probe, indoor air sensor), the radon/thoron concentration can be measured simultaneously at multiple locations with a single monitor. Additional differential pressure and temperature sensors enable, for example, the analysis of radon transport processes in and around buildings. Another application is geophysical measuring stations, where various sensors for water analysis and the measurement of geogenic gases can be integrated. Also optional is the connection of a NaI(Tl) detector for determining the gamma ambient dose rate and nuclide analysis, for example, in uranium prospecting or the detection of radioactive sources. The flexible basic structure of the radon/thoron measuring device places no limits on the user’s ideas.
The radon measurement chamber, which operates according to the principle of high-voltage separation, offers excellent sensitivity while maintaining a small volume, which is a decisive advantage, especially for thoron measurements and small sample volumes. The long-term contamination caused by a growing polonium-210 background, which is common with other measurement principles, is completely eliminated. There is no cross-sensitivity to ambient radiation. The chamber is insensitive to fluctuations in humidity. The drying cartridge, which is otherwise commonly used in radon measuring devices that operate according to this measurement method, is eliminated. High-quality semiconductor radiation detectors are used in the radon measurement chamber. These enable perfect separation of the individual radon decay products using alpha spectroscopy. Quality assurance is a central element of every radiation measurement. Therefore, the RTM 2200 stores a complete alpha spectrum for each measured value, which can be used to immediately determine the proper functioning of the device at any time during the measurement.
The current measured values are displayed on a large touchscreen. All measurement data is stored on a two-gigabyte memory card and can be accessed from a PC via the USB port. If the optional GPS receiver is installed, the location coordinates are saved for each data set. The RS-232 interface allows for the connection of a modem and can be replaced with a wireless network adapter upon request.
The device is delivered with a DAkkS-compliant calibration certificate. Our radon calibration is carried out according to the specifications of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
The RTM 2200 Soil Gas is the ultimate tool for fast, accurate, and reliable radon soil gas measurements (DIN EN ISO 11665-11) at the touch of a button. The special measurement cycle includes both the determination of soil permeability and the purging of the measurement chamber with fresh air at the end of the measurement. A water ingress protection device shuts off the pump if water is accidentally sucked in. The GPS receiver facilitates subsequent localization of the measurements.
The measurement principle is based on true alpha spectroscopy across the entire measurement range, making it the absolute first choice for soil gas measurements. The advantages at a glance:
The device is delivered in a handy and robust carrying case for use in harsh environmental conditions. A signal lamp on the case lid signals the end of a soil air measurement and warns if soil permeability is too low.
The powerful software “dVISION” enables the management and display of all acquired data, including display in an integrated map (Google™) and export to CSV and KML files.
Of course, the device includes all the features necessary for other typical applications (long- and short-term monitoring, search for entry routes, radon in water, radon exhalation). The following options are available for the RTM 2200:
The device is delivered with a DAkkS-compliant calibration certificate. Radon calibration is performed according to the specifications of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
The device will be replaced by the new version RTM 2300 from 2025.
The RTM 1688-2 is a truly universal radon/thoron monitor capable of covering the entire range of radon measurements. Its high sensitivity, combined with the alpha spectroscopy measurement method, allows for the fastest possible measurements even at low radon concentrations. The thoron concentration is determined simultaneously.
Radon entry paths can be searched for and detected using the “sniffing” mode. Soil gas and water measurements are easily possible thanks to the built-in pump. The radon/thoron detector is extremely easy to operate using a single button.
A printer can be connected directly to the interface of the Radon/Thoron monitor so that a report can be presented on site.
The RTM 1688-2 can be connected directly to a modem for remote data transmission. The connection is established easily and conveniently using the included Radon Vision software .
The measuring chamber is insensitive to fluctuations in humidity. The drying cartridge, which is otherwise common in devices using this measuring method, is eliminated.
Particular attention was paid to quality assurance. A complete alpha spectrum is stored for each measurement interval, allowing immediate conclusions to be drawn about the proper functioning of the device at any time during the measurement. Any number of measurement series can be created, and their data can be read out even during ongoing measurements.
Of particular note is the small chamber volume of only 250 ml, which allows the measurement of samples from small volumes.
Power is supplied via an AC adapter or the internal battery, which allows for up to 14 days of autonomous operation.
The RTM 1688-2 Radon/Thoron Monitor is equipped with sensors for temperature, humidity, and air pressure. A motion sensor detects if the device’s position changes during the measurement.
The device is delivered with a DAkkS-compliant calibration certificate. Our radon calibration is carried out according to the specifications of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
Growing market demand and customer expectations are the reason why SARAD has designed and developed the new radon monitor for high-precision reference measurements.
The Radon Scout eXpert offers excellent sensitivity of 25 cpm/(kBq/m³). Furthermore, thanks to its unique detector technology, the instrument is unaffected by temperature and humidity fluctuations, external radiation, mechanical shocks, and vibrations. The new radon monitor features the proven SARAD communication protocol, enabling data transmission using proprietary software or integration into existing infrastructure. It features a USB interface, a relay output, and an optional Wi-Fi connection. For easy operation, the device is equipped with a display and control buttons. Direct operation and measured value evaluation are possible without the need for an external control unit such as a PC. LED indicators provide information on radon limit violations, as well as battery and measurement status. Internal calculation routines allow the display of not only the actual and average radon values, but also the estimated dose.
Due to its high sensitivity, the Radon Scout eXpert can be used as a reference instrument in calibration laboratories or scientific institutions, and also as the highest measurement unit in locations where fast and reliable radon determination is required, whether in the Bq or MBq range. The device operates with a simple 5 V power supply or two integrated AA batteries, which continue measuring even in the event of a power failure or temporary mobile use. All measurement results are stored locally in a non-volatile ring buffer. Temperature and humidity sensors are integrated as standard. It can be optionally equipped with a CO2 or barometric pressure sensor.
The Radon Scout Everywhere is a revolution among conventional radon measuring devices on the market.
In addition to the high measurement sensitivity characteristic of SARAD devices, which enables fast and accurate determination of radon concentration, the device offers direct access to the measurement data via the Internet without additional hardware (plug-and-play solution).
Whether connected via a LAN cable or wirelessly with the integrated LTE modem, the measurement files are available at a glance on the PC or server, always secure with end-to-end encryption. With an attractive design, adjustable measurement interval, a switching output, and a calibration certificate from our DAkkS-accredited radon calibration laboratory, the device offers both flexible application options and recognized measurement quality. This device is particularly suitable wherever autonomous operation is advantageous or where data must be retrieved from multiple locations simultaneously without personal involvement (e.g., residential areas). Communication is NOT cloud-based but takes place via the user’s server. All data remains where it belongs. With Radon Vision, not only data can be read remotely, but all device settings can also be adjusted.
Like all our measuring devices, the Radon Scout Everywhere was developed locally in Dresden, where it is manufactured and calibrated.
The measuring device allows for the simultaneous measurement of radon (Rn222) and thoron (Rn220) activity concentrations based on a diffusion measurement chamber. The required rapid exchange rate of the measured air is achieved by a highly permeable measurement chamber located outside the housing. The relative thoron sensitivity is comparable to that of pump-based devices.
The modified measuring chamber is derived from the Radon Scout , while the electronics are from the RTM 1688-2 . This means that more than 2,000 data sets, including a complete alpha spectrum, can be stored. Additionally, sensors for air pressure, temperature, and humidity are integrated.
The Thoron Scout offers a larger display than the Radon Scout Plus . Replaceable batteries allow for approximately one month of autonomous operation. It is possible to operate the unit with an AC adapter, allowing for unlimited measurement periods.
The Thoron Scout has a switching output that can be used for alarm purposes or to control ventilation systems.
The device is delivered with a DAkkS-compliant calibration certificate. Calibration for radon (Rn-222) is performed according to the specifications of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018.
The Radon Scout has the highest sensitivity in its class, exceeding that of its competitors by several times. This results in the lowest detection limit and the smallest statistical error. Proven thousands of times over, this US EPA-certified device displays the temporal progression of radon concentrations even below 100 Bq/m³. Influencing factors such as ventilation or weather conditions can thus be reliably assessed.
Due to its high sensitivity, the device is ideal for directly controlling ventilation systems. As an accessory, we offer a wireless switch that connects directly to the device. This allows for the control of wall and panel fans, extractor hoods, and similar devices throughout the house without any additional effort. Older devices can also be retrofitted. The switching threshold on the Radon Scout is fixed to the EU guideline value of 300 Bq/m³, while it can be freely selected on the Radon Scout PLUS .
Two D-size batteries allow for autonomous operation for several months. The Radon Scout PLUS radon detector has an additional connection for a power adapter, allowing for virtually unlimited operation.
The data storage capacity was designed to allow for long periods of time with high temporal resolution. Any number of measurement series can be created, and the data can be read out even during ongoing measurements.
Temporal variations in radon concentration are reliably detected due to the high sensitivity even at low concentration values.
The radon detector operates in diffusion mode, so thoron influences can be neglected. The measuring chamber, with its semiconductor detector and high-voltage enrichment system, is insensitive to fluctuations in humidity.
The Radon Scout is equipped with temperature and humidity sensors. The Radon Scout PLUS also features an air pressure sensor. An integrated motion detector detects whether the position of the radon detector has been changed during the measurement.
A new detector technology sets standards: outstanding sensitivity in dosimeter format.
The device is completely insensitive to humidity and temperature fluctuations, external radiation, vibration, and shock. Two AAA batteries are sufficient for several months of autonomous operation.
These features, along with the additional integrated sensors for humidity, temperature, pressure and CO2 ( both optional), make the Radon Scout Professional the first choice for both short-term and long-term radon measurements as well as for personal dosimetry.
The fast and statistically reliable measurement of the radon concentration, in combination with the optionally available switching output, enables direct ventilation control to comply with the legal reference value.
The device is calibrated. All measurement results are stored as a time series and can be read out via the USB interface. Only high-quality components are used in the Radon Scout Professional . Manufacturing takes place at our Dresden facility.
SARAD’s outstanding detector technology defines a new standard for continuous radon measurement in buildings and workplaces, as required by the recently introduced EU radiation protection regulations.
The Smart Radon Sensor offers very high sensitivity in a very small and elegant housing. Thanks to our detector technology, the device is immune to changes in temperature and humidity, external radiation, mechanical shocks, and vibrations.
Various interfaces are available for system integration. The RS-485 fieldbus interface can be operated using either the industry-standard MODBUS RTU protocol or the proprietary SARAD protocol. The analog output simplifies integration into existing control systems.
Thanks to the integrated switching output, the Smart Radon Sensor can also be used as an isolated solution for ventilation control.
For easy installation, all signals are available on a terminal block with screw connections.
If no data line is available, the device can be connected to a host system via the optionally integrated ZigBee wireless interface.
The wide voltage range includes all power supplies commonly used in building automation. Measurement begins as soon as the power supply is connected. Two AAA batteries ensure uninterrupted measurement in the event of a power failure.
All measurement data is saved locally in a ring buffer.
Temperature and humidity sensors are included as standard, and CO2 and pressure measurements are available as options. We use only high-quality components for this product, which is manufactured at our production facility in Dresden.
