The AK-5/100 STENT automatic balance for stents operates with the readability of d = 0.1 μg. The device features a special working mode which makes it possible to analyse the change in sample mass during the technological process.

 

Automatic Operation
Automation of the weighing cycle, thanks to the elimination of an error being a result of the human factor, is a guarantee of measurement repeatability and accuracy impossible to be obtained in the case of manual weighing. This is especially crucial when assessing emission of particulate pollutants, emitted by combustion engines (Euro 6 0,8 Standard), additionally it allows to conduct research works with the measurement repeatability of sd < 0.8 μg.

Stent Container

Automatic balance for stents, the AK-5/100 STENT, enables users to create identical test conditions for the entire stent series. With use of the stent container, the user can weight a series of 5 stents maximum, one by one, thus the necessity to place one stent on the pan each time is avoided.
 
Accessories for Stent Weighing
Weighing pan of custom design allows convenient weighing of 40 mm stents with a diameter of even 20 mm. A special applicator facilitates stent loading.
 
Spacious Chamber and Ease of Operation
In the weighing chamber there are perfect conditions necessary to enable highly precise weighing. The spacious chamber makes loading of the weighing pan with stents comfortable and uncomplicated.
 
Measurement of Ambient Conditions in the Weighing Chamber

Solution for Stent Weighing
UYA 2.4Y PLUS STENT balance has been equipped with a special weighing pan for weighing of the smallest and the lightest stents, placed inside a special shield, and an applicator for stent loading.

Weighing Chamber Antistatic Characteristics
Special, antistatic coating compensates electrostatic charges accumulated on the substance sprayed over the stent, and laboratory accessories. With this the influence of electrostatics onto the weighing pan is limited.

Fully Antistatic Weighing Chamber
The XA 4Y.M.A PLUS STENT balances are devices where the influence of electrostatics onto the weighing result has been eliminated due to use of special antistatic coating of the glass panes, and thanks to an integrated ionizer. The antistatic ionizer generates positive and negative ions alternately, leading to an electrostatically inert working environment. The substance with which the stent is covered, when placed in such an environment, also becomes electrostatically inert, so that the weighing process runs smoothly. The antistatic ionizer implemented in the XA 4Y.M.A PLUS STENT balances compensates both cations and anions. The ionizer activates when the balance door opens, and deactivates when the door is closed. It is possible to control ionizer operation using the weighing instrument panel. The operation is signalled by blue diode which emits light when the ionizer is on.
Smart Min Weight
With use of the “Smart Min Weight” function, the XA 4Y.M.A PLUS STENT balances automatically adjust resolution of the range to the currently weighed mass. This results with improvement of the minimum weight parameter by 30%.

Warnings System
When the sensors for constant monitoring of ambient conditions and level status record deviations, the balance displays warnings about potential errors occurrence during weighing.

Ergonomic Mechanical Design
Latch-type system of weighing chamber elements assembly enables their quick, uncomplicated and tool-free assembly/disassembly. This makes it easy to keep the chamber clean and allows the manual pipette calibration adapter to be assembled. Smart system of pressures equalization guarantees stable measurement. It eliminates errors generated by rapid change of pressure inside the weighing chamber. A real novelty is an option of lighting the weighing pan up using a LED diode. The diode does not affect the weighing chamber temperature.

A stent is a type of prosthesis that is placed inside a blood vessel to restore its patency. Dozens of lives are saved thanks to it. Its shape, size, and weight must be matched to the blood vessel. In addition, the stent application site requires attention to sterility. These properties necessitate the use of balances with the highest resolution for the inspection of stents.

The stent weighing kit has been designed to ensure that such a delicate sample, a stent, is weighed with the greatest precision possible, yet in an easy and ergonomic manner. The said precision is obtained thanks to the new XA 4Y.M.A PLUS and XA 4Y.M PLUS microbalances, and ergonomics due to the specially designed weighing pan and additional draft shields.

The weighing pans that are part of the kit allow for weighing stents of different sizes, including 5.5 × 140 mm, 6 × 60 mm, 8 × 40 mm, 8 × 40 mm, 19 × 10 mm, and 1.6 × 19 mm. Thanks to the well-thought-out design of the kit and its applicators, the user places the stent on a special tray, which increases ergonomics and eliminates cross-contamination.

Due to the different shapes and sizes of stents, two types of weighing pans, dedicated covers, and size-appropriate applicators come standard with the kit. The RADWAG-manufactured microbalance is a versatile solution. Therefore, it can be operated by a right- or left-handed person.

The overall design of the kit, i.e. a fork-shaped weighing pan with an additional draft shield, has eliminated the difficulties associated with weighing of a small-weight sample of a relatively large volume such as stent. With this, the stent weighing results are obtained with an accuracy equal to that of the balance. 

The stent weighing kit includes 7 items:
  • draft shield base,
  • 2 draft shields,
  • 2 fork-shaped stent weighing pans: for small (1) and large (1) stents,
  • 2 stent applicators: for small (1) and large (1) stents,
The kit is intended for all load capacities of the XA 4Y.M.A PLUS and XA 4Y.M PLUS series balances.
