MicroSwab: A MicroSwab consists of a lyophilized pellet of a single microorganism strain inside a pen-like device. This pen-like device contains a sterile swab and rehydration fluid to facilitate the transfer of the microorganisms directly to culture media. The pellet has no defined CFU assay but a minimum of 1000CFU/pellet to ensure proper growth. Use MicroSwabs whenever a defined assay value is not needed. The MicroSwabs are up to 4 passages removed from reference strain.
MicroSwabPlus: The MicroSwabPlus also consists of a lyophilized pellet of a single microorganism strain inside a pen-like device.This pen-like device contains a sterile swab and rehydration fluid to facilitate the transfer of the microorganisms directly to culture media. The pellet has no defined CFU assay but a minimum of 1000CFU/pellet to ensure proper growth. Whereas MicroSwabs are up to 4 passages removed from reference strain the MicroSwabPlus are only 2 passages removed from reference strain.
MicroPelletRT: A MicroPelletRT consists of a lyophilized pellet of a single microorganism strain with a defined mean assay value inside a plastic vial and one separate vial with 1ml rehydration fluid. Addind the reconstitution fluid to the pellet vial it forms a suspension with a defined assay value of 10-100 CFU/0,1ml as mandated by USP and Ph.Eur. for growth promotion tests.
MicroPelletRT10: A bigger format of MicroPelletRT and is intended for customers who perform a lot of testing. A MicroPelletRT10 consists of a lyophilized pellet of a single microorganism strain with a defined mean assay value inside a plastic vial and one separate vial with 10ml rehydration fluid. Addind the pellet to the reconstitution fluid vial it forms a suspension with a defined assay value of 10-100 CFU/0,1ml as mandated by USP and Ph.Eur. for growth promotion tests.
MicroPelletRTPlus microorganisms can be used to perform various essential quality control functions including microbial detection and enumeration, equipment calibration, method validation, bioburden determination, antibacterial effectiveness and lethality testing. MicroPelletRTPlus are available in concentrations ranging from 102 to 108 CFU per pellet. Rehydration fluid for this product line is available in sets of 2 vials of 1 ml each as a separate product.

After processing these preparations of lyophilized microorganisms as directed you will achieve a quality assurance challenge as required by Ph.Eur./USP to perform growth promotion tests. MicroPelletRT can be traced back to ATCC reference strains and are not more than 4 passages away from the reference strain.
MicroPelletsRT have the following features:
- each micropelletrt is packed separately in a vial- this prevents any spoilage of the lyophilized preparation by humidity etc.
- micropelletrt are easy to use: simply unscrew the cap and rehydrate with the provided fluid. as micropelletrt are lyophilized and not just dried suspensions like other products currently available, they rehydrate instantly and can be used immediately
- each pellet contains 100-1000 colony forming units (cfu’s), and when rehydrated with 1 ml it produces 10 doses of 10-100 cfu’s/0,1ml. no additional dilution step is necessary!
