This adapter is designed to allow operators to use 33mm cylinders for measuring ASTM D1500 color scale in the PFX or PFXi 195. Please note that the cell holder will need to be removed from the instrument’s sample chamber and replaced by the tube holder.
Tube, 10.65 mm diameter

10.65mm borosilicate glass tube for measuring Gardner and FAC scale in the PFX or PFXi 195.
In order to hold these tubes upright in the correct position, the operator will also need the tube adaptor part number 132800. This adaptor includes a single 352290 tube. Please note that these tubes are shorter than the 10.65mm tubes used in the 3000 Comparator (352280) in order to allow the instrument’s lid to be closed.

This cell with spacer allows operators to measure extremely dark but transparent samples at a 1mm path length while doing so in an easy to clean 10mm cell.
Flow through control software

Software to control the PFXi through the RS232 port to allow for regular measurement of a sample moving through a flow through cell. Please note that standard 12.5mm wide flow through cells would need to be held in cell adaptor 131907 to ensure accurate measurements. The operator will also need to drill through the marked points at the back of the instrument and sample chamber to allow for the entry and exit pipes running to the flow through cell.
Flow through cell, 10 mm path length

10 mm path length, 12.5 mm width for use with holder 131907 when measuring Gardner, Iodine, FAC, Chinese Pharmacopoeia, Pfund or EBC in the PFXi 195.
This cell has a chamber 6 x 6 mm wide and therefore takes a sample in excess of 0.36 ml. The beam height is 15mm. Please note that the connectors at the top are made of glass and are particularly fragile. Special care must be taken to avoid breaking these when attaching pipes or moving the cell.

This upgrade pack will allow an operator to install a heater to maintain heated samples at up to 95°C when they would otherwise solidify and be unsuitable for measuring in a transmission instrument. Once the heater is installed, we recommend all heated samples be measured in borosilicate, not optical glass, cells.

The Lovibond® Pellet Holder is a fixture designed for holding large pellet media such as plastic for injection moulding. This fixture is not intended for measuring powders. The fixture slips over the shoe of the Lovibond® model RT 250, 300, 400 and 500. Fixtures are held in place by a single turn of the fixture’s body. Filling is accomplished through an opening on the front of the fixture which closes to retain the pellets. The pellets are pressed against a pyrex window at the instrument sample port by a spring-loaded piston.
RT V-Block Sample Holder

The Lovibond® V-Block Sample Holder is a fixture designed to hold small odd-shaped parts while being measured with a Lovibond® RT range Spectrophotometer. The fixture ensures consistent and repeatable colour measurements of objects such as cosmetic cases (lipstick and eye liner), pen bodies, small moulded bottles and plastic bottle pre-forms. The fixture mounts directly on the Spectrophotometer shoe, secured with two easily accessible thumbscrews.
The V-Block accepts objects ranging from 0.5” to 1.25” in diameter. The V-Block pivots, allowing the object being measured to be parallel to the Spectrophotometer’s sample port. Once the angle is established it can be locked in place with two thumbscrews.
RT300/400/500 Powder Cell Holder

The Lovibond® 400640 Powder Cell Holding Fixture is designed to hold a cell for liquid or powder measurement. The fixture is designed specifically for an Optical Circular Sample Cell (400740). The cell is enclosed in a black chamber which prevents ambient light from affecting the measurement. The fixture attaches to Lovibond® Models RT300, 400 & 500 Spectrophotometer Series. The spectrophotometer must be mounted in the Lovibond® 400620 Benchtop Stand.
Measurements taken with the Cell Holder and Optical Sample Cell are intended for relative measurements comparing a standard and a sample batch. The fixed errors resulting from the thickness of the glass or plastic and translucency of the samples prevent comparison to an absolute reflectance standard.

The Lovibond® 400630 Liquid Cell Holder is a fixture designed specifically to hold a Lovibond® Optical Cell for liquid measurement by the Lovibond® RT300, 400 & 500 Spectrophotometer Series. The Liquid Cell Holder attaches to the Lovibond® 400620 Benchtop Stand. The Liquid Cell Holder features a black chamber with a white ceramic backing that encloses the liquid-filled optical cell. The Lovibond® Liquid Cell Lid is provided to prevent spillage. Replacement cells are available in packs of 10 (605534).
Measurements taken with the Liquid Cell Holder are intended for relative measurements comparing a standard and a sample batch. The fixed errors resulting from the thickness of the glass and translucency of the samples prevent comparison to an absolute reflectance standard. Extreme care should be taken to prevent the sample liquid from being spilled on the instrument or in the instrument sphere, as this may void your warranty. NEVER FILL THE CELL WHILE IT IS IN THE HOLDER. Care should be taken to ensure the liquid cell and the white ceramic backing are kept clean.
