The FTS DigiTemp immersion water temperature sensor
 
a robust SDI-12 sensor for measuring the temperature of soil, water or other liquids with scientific accuracy and long-term reliability. It makes adding automatic temperature monitoring to existing stations incredibly easy and inexpensive.

DigiTemp is small enough to fit easily through standard 2.5 cm (1 “) PVC tubing with 20.3 cm (8”) factory bend corners.
 
DigiTemp is a fully digital sensor that uses the SDI-12 protocol and is compatible with any SDI-12 compliant data logger such as the Ser [LOG].

DigiTemp features

Just plug in and go.
  • No complex cabling required.
  • Since it is a linear sensor, there is no need to program coefficients.
  • The flexible strain relief cable is durable, waterproof and UV-resistant. Supports cable lengths up to 152 m (500 ′) without affecting performance.
  • Strong, molded end loop for attaching weights or other mechanisms that aid in fishing through the line.

The marine grade DTS-12 is the world’s best in-stream turbidity sensor.

Using true nephelometric geometry coupled with a durable optical surface and an angled head that deflects bubbles, it delivers extremely clean, highly accurate data with repeatable long-term accuracy.

The DTS-12 has an optical drift of less than 2% per year and offers an incredible recalibration interval of 12 months. The unique, self-cleaning wiper minimizes bio-fouling. These functions can usually save 11 visits per year.

Turbidity sensor features

  • The DTS-12 is the first turbidity sensor to use a laser diode light source, a coherent, narrow, near-infrared spectral beam that provides constant intensity without degradation over time.
  • The unique, self-cleaning, bi-directional design utilizes a reciprocating motion and two cavities in the head of the sensor that remove dirt twice every time the wiper is activated.
  • The abrasion-resistant silicone wiper blade prevents optical surface abrasion and cannot be impregnated with sediments or bio-fouling.
  • The integrated heat compensation ensures a very high thermal stability of the light source and electronics.

The FTS Submersible PT offers an excellent Total Error Band (TEB) 2 accuracy for reliable and accurate measurements under real conditions. It is ideal for environmental monitoring applications such as surface water, streams and reservoirs with existing SDI-12 monitoring equipment. In addition, it is ideal for remote applications that require battery or solar-powered operation with minimal power consumption and the networking of several sensors with a data logger. The supplied lightning protection makes it more robust for installation in high-current endangered areas.
