HI981413 Nutrient Dosing System is engineered for maintaining the concentration of fertilizer nutrient solution used in hydroponics and irrigation water. The nutrient concentration in the water used for irrigation is critical for the successful propagation and growth of plants. The HI981413 uses an amperometric conductivity sensor for measuring the amount of fertilizer in the solution. The meter can be programmed to display results as EC (electrical conductivity) or as TDS (total dissolved solids). The EC results are displayed as mS/cm while TDS is displayed as ppm with a selectable conversion factor from 0.45 to 0.99. The HI981413 was developed to be an inexpensive solution for the horticulturist to maintain the ideal fertilizer concentrations. Simply insert the probe and injection valve in-line with the re-circulation pump and provide the chemical to be dosed.
The HI981413 features a multi-colored LCD that provides for a quick way to see the status of the pool controller. If in control mode and operating as intended the display will be green. If control is not enabled then the display will be yellow while in an alarm state the display flashes red.
Both conductivity or TDS and temperature are displayed with status icons that show when the pump is dosing and the control mode status.
Hanna controllers allow users to enable or disable the low and high-level alarms for EC/TDS. When an alarm is activated, all dosing will stop. For added safety, the alarm system also offers overdosing protection in that if the set point value is not corrected within a programmed time interval then the meter will go into alarm status.
Adjustable Flow Rate
The flow rate from the dosing pumps is adjustable from 0.5 to 3.5L/h. Larger bodies of water require more chemical to be dosed than smaller ones in per unit of time. The adjustable flow rate, like the proportional band, allows for better control in maintaining a desired set point .
Automatic Proportional Pump Control
The peristaltic dosing pump can be controlled by simple on/off or more advanced proportional control which helps prevents overshooting of the set point. When using proportional control the flow rate that is programmed, will be impacted by the proportional band used. The closer the reading is to the set point the longer it takes for the peristaltic pump to complete one revolution. If the reading is outside the proportional band then the amount of time it takes to complete one revolution is based on the flow rate programmed.
Acid Tank Level/Flow Switch Input
The BL100 allows for a connection to an optional level controller or flow switch. This input can be used to disable the dosing pump when there is no chemical left in the reservoir tank or there is no flow due to the pump being turned off.
The HI981413 features a peristaltic dosing pump that is superior to diaphragm versions due to the ability to self-prime when there is no liquid in the uptake line.
The brushless motor does not have nay gears or brushes that can wear out. A brushless design provides for a long life and little maintenance. The compact stepper motor allows for very precision control over the dosing of the chemical.
The industrial grade peristaltic tubing is chemical resistant and provides for a relatively long-life. As tubing stretches over time it can be easily replaced. No special tools required.
The HI981413 is available in multiple configurations including a meter only, meter and probe, and
a complete package that includes bypass loop
and panel mounted flow through cell. All models include aspiration tubing with filter and dispensing tubing with injection valve.
The HI981413 uses the HI30003 probe that incorporates both conductivity and temperature sensors and connects to the controller with a single waterproof Quick Connect DIN connector.
The ABS body of the probe has a 1/2” threaded fitting for insertion to an in-line “T” fitting or the flow cell. The back end part of the probe has 3/4” NPT threads for submersion/ tank mounting. The probe body has a hex fitting for tightening snuggly with a wrench. .
Engineered to be an inexpensive solution for the hydroponic or greenhouse grower to maintain the ideal nutrient solution concentration level in the reservoir tank. The HI981413 GroLine Nutrient Dosing System is a complete solution with advanced process controller and a built in chemical dosing pump. Simply insert the probe and injection valve in-line with the re-circulation pump and supply the stock fertilizer to be dosed.

High purity water used in power generation, semiconductor manufacturing and other industries can be difficult to measure can be difficult to measure due the ability of carbon dioxide (CO2) to diffuse into water and forming carbonic acid (H2CO3). The carbonic acid will dissociate into hydrogen ions (H+) and bicarbonate ions (HCO3–). These ions will increase the conductivity and decrease the resistivity of the water. In order to measure high purity water accurately it is necessary to perform a continuous flow measurement. The HI98197 uses the HI763123 four ring probe with a threaded connection that is screwed into a stainless steel body flow cell. The flow cell is connected to a water source to determine the conductivity or resistivity whichever is preferred. The HI98192 is supplied with the HI763133 four-ring conductivity probe with a built-in temperature sensor. This technology allows for accurate readings that cover a complete range with a single sensor. The four ring technology also eliminates the polarization effect that is common with standard two pole versions. The HI763133 conductivity probe connects to the meter with a unique quick connect waterproof DIN connector allowing for a secure attachment without a threaded connection that is also easy to remove.
HI98192 has an expanded conductivity range from 0.000 µS/cm to 1000 mS/cm actual conductivity (400 mS/cm temperature compensated). The HI98192 also has ranges for TDS, resistivity, and three salinity scales. This meter automatically recognizes the probe type (two or four ring) and allows the user to adjust the nominal cell constant.
HI98192 can be used to perform all three stages of USP method required for EC measurement of ultrapure water and generates a report when the any of the three stages are met.
Choose from seven memorized standards and obtain up to a five point conductivity calibration. For salinity (% range), HI7037 standard allows users to make a one point calibration.
EC and TDS measurements are fully customizable and include:
The temperature compensation coefficient range is configurable from 0.00 to 10.00%/℃ with a choice of reference temperatures of 15℃, 20℃ and 25℃. The conductivity to TDS factor is adjustable from 0.40 and 1.00.
The HI98192 allows for the creation of 10 measurement profiles with various user settings including temperature compensation, range selection, cell constant, and TDS conversion factors.
The log-on-demand mode allows the user to record and save up to 400 readings while the lot logging at selected intervals can store up to 1000 readings. This data can then be transferred to a PC with Hanna’s HI920015 micro USB cable and HI92000 software.

The portable Multi-range EC Meter – HI8733 is suitable for use in a variety of applications. It offers four measurement ranges from 0.0 µS/cm to 199.9 mS/cm with a ±1% FS accuracy. The HI76302W four-ring conductivity probe that is supplied with the meter allows for a wide range of measurements with a single sensor. The four ring technology also eliminates the polarization effect that is common with standard two pole versions. The probe also features a built-in temperature sensor to allow for Automatic Temperature Compensation from 0 to 50℃ (32 to 122℉) and an adjustable β from 0 to 2.5%/℃.
Four-ring Probe – The four-ring probe that comes with the HI8733 offers a versatile and accurate solution for conductivity readings. Four ring technology allows for a larger range of measurement within a single probe, whereas two probe technology is somewhat limited in the range in which it can measure. The probe comes with a protective PVC sleeve that assures durability when taking measurements outdoors.
Four Measurement Ranges – HI8733 offers four conductivity measurement ranges. Each range has a dedicated button on the face of the meter, allowing users to easily switch between ranges when necessary. The meter is programmed to let the user know when their current reading is out of range, and a new range should then be selected.
Automatic Temperature Compensation – Since temperature has such a dramatic effect on conductivity readings, having a meter that offers temperature compensated readings is invaluable. The probe of the HI8733 features a built-in temperature sensor that automatically accounts for the effects of temperature on a sample’s conductivity reading in the range of 0 to 50℃ (32 to 122℉).
Adjustable Temperature Coefficient – As the temperature of a solution increases or decreases, the conductance becomes higher or lower, respectively. The temperature compensation coefficient, also known as β, is the factor that adjusts for the temperature of a solution to ensure an accurate reading is achieved. The HI8733 allows for an adjustable β to be set from 0 to 2.5%/℃; this factor corrects the conductivity reading by the set percentage for each degree Celsius change in the sample.
One-point Calibration – The HI8733 can be calibrated at one point in a standard conductivity solution. The calibration knob located on the top of the meter is easily adjusted to the correct calibration standard.
The HI8733 is a durable, portable EC meter designed for use in areas of production and quality control. It is supplied with a four-ring conductivity probe to allow for four ranges of measurement. Conductivity readings are adjusted with Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC), assuring users of consistent and accurate measurements.
