Benchmark’s new Roto-Therm series of incubated rotating mixers provide a wide range of mixing capabilities. Suitable for an array of laboratory applications including resuspension, protein binding, nucleic acid purification, histochemistry, hybridization etc, the mixers include

interchangeable tube holders for accomomodating all common tube sizes from 0.5ml to 50ml. The motion can be adjusted from vertical (end over end) mixing, to horizontal (rolling or hybridization style) mixing.

For applications requiring temperature control, the Roto-Therm series can be digitally programmed to maintain chamber temperatures of ambient +5°C to 60°C and include an “in-lab” calibration function for ensuring accurate temperature control.

The Roto-Therm is also available in a “Plus” configuration, providing the following additional features:

Variable speed: 5 to 70rpm
“Mix” function: Rotating in combination w/ oscillations (increased mixing)
“Pause” function: Rotating with intermittent “stops” during rotation
“Rock” function: Back and forth, gentle rocking motion (see-saw)

The Plus model also offer an additional rocking platform (4.5 x 3 in.), as well as a 96 x 0.2ml tube/strip/plate holder for mixing PCR vessels in the “Mix” (oscillating) mode.

The Incu-Shaker™ Mini is the most compact shaking incubator in its class. Despite the remarkably small footprint, a large 11.5 x 9.5 in. work space accepts several platforms and a variety of flasks, tubes and other common vessels.

The standard platform (included) features a non-slip, rubber coated surface, ideal for tissue culture flasks, Petri dishes and staining trays.

The convenient MAGic Clamp™ (PATENTED) platform is also available for use with Erlenmeyer flasks and test tube racks. The unique, magnetic attachment method is the easiest way to instantly change between flask clamps of different sizes.

Incu-Shaker™ 10L is a heavy-duty performer, designed for heavy workloads and continuous use. Its outstanding temperature accuracy and uniformity are supported by proprietary heat distribution technology that ensures that temperatures are precisely maintained throughout the chamber. Inconsistencies due to stratification are reduced to negligible levels and the selected temperature is precisely maintained within 0.25%, even in the corners.

The powerful brushless induction drive is designed for years of trouble-free service, even under continuous use conditions with heavy loads. Noise and vibration are minimized by an advanced, computer designed motor isolation system. Like other Incu-Shaker models, the 10L is built to last.

A standard, rubber mat platform is included and is ideal for use with tissue culture flasks, Petri dishes, staining trays and other flat vessels. The new Benchmark Incu-Shaker™ 20L and 20LR introduce a high-throughput, space saving shaking incubator system to the Incu-Shaker family. Now with stacking capability of up to 2 units, the Incu-Shaker™ 20 series are highly space-efficient without compromising on reliability or temperature performance.

Thoroughly tested for years of reliable performance, the same proven brushless induction motor drive is featured as in other Incu-Shaker instruments. The high grade stainless-steel internal chambers provide temperature accuracy within ±0.1°C, and industry-leading uniformity within the chamber of ±0.5°C. The Incu-Shaker™ 20L features temperature control from 5°C above ambient temperatures up to 60°C. The 20LR features a built-in powerful compressor, allowing for cooling down to 4°C, even while the shaker is in use, up to 60°C.

The increased chamber size now allows for up to 4 5-Liter Erlenmeyer flasks to be in use at once. Usable space is maximized by providing adjustable shelving above the shaker platforms, which can be used for incubation of Petri dishes, cell culture plates, or other smaller vessels. Even when two stacked units are working, the noise and vibration levels are significantly minimized by the advanced, computer-designed motor isolation system.

The Incu-Shaker™ 20 series feature a non-slip rubber mat platform, and can be outfitted with Benchmark’s MAGic Clamp™ universal magnetic platform. Magnetic flask attachment accessories can then be used, allowing for easy, toolless addition and removal of flasks from the shaker. Flask clamps of most sizes, tube racks, and other magnetic vessel holders are available and usable with the Incu-Shaker™ 20L and 20LR. The Incu-Shaker 20L and 20LR are now available for efficient, repeatable growth culture and other applications.

INCU-SHAKER™ CO2 MINI, WITH NON-SLIP RUBBER MAT PLATFORM

Ideal for the culturing of non-adherent cells, the Incu-Shaker CO2 Mini combines a precision CO2 incubation chamber with an integral orbital shaker, providing the optimum conditions for suspension cell culture.

With our unique and proprietary heat distribution technology, the incubator provides the highest levels of temperature accuracy with minimal fluctuation (within 0.1°C). The six-side heating system in combination with a low speed internal fan uniformly spreads air throughout the stainless steel chamber (without air exchange from the external environment). For applications requiring solely gravity convection, this internal fan can be disabled, significantly reducing the concern of sample to sample contamination.

A beltless motor drive provides a horizontally circular shaking motion at a consistent 19mm orbit. The included platform (9.5 x 11.5 in.) can be used for low speed shaking of a variety of laboratory vessels, including Erlenmeyer flasks, culture plates and media bottles. For high speed mixing, a patented MAGic Clamp platform is available that allows for magnetic attachment of flask clamps and tube racks.

INCU-MIXER™ MP HEATED MICROPLATE VORTEXER SERIES

The new Incu-Mixer MP series by Benchmark Scientific is designed to provide an optimal method for vortexing and incubating microplates. Simultaneous heating from both the bottom surface and the lid provide temperature uniformity throughout the sample. Additionally, the heated lid minimizes evaporation and prevents condensation.
A compact, 2mm orbit ensures thorough mixing in microplates without splashing. Speed, time and temperature are all displayed in real time on the large LCD screen while an internal validation system constantly monitors all parameters for accuracy.

Designed for application flexibility, the Incu-Mixer series is available in two, and four-plate capacities, both capable of accepting standard plates. Independent time, temperature and speed controls allow the mixer to function as 3 machines in one; a multi-plate incubator, vortexer, or a combination of the two. The Incu-Mixer MP series is ideal for a wide variety of molecular biology applications including immunochemical reactions, enzyme and protein analysis, and microarray analysis.

MULTITHERM SHAKER

The MultiTherm shaker is a temperature controlled vortexer, useful for a variety of molecular biology applications. Despite its modest 8 x 11 in. footprint, all popular tubes and plates are compatible, including as many as six 50 ml tubes. Speed, time and temperature settings are continuously visible on the LCD, simultaneously showing both actual and selected values. Integral over-temperature control ensures long life, safety and sample integrity. Blocks are sold separately.

MULTITHERM SHAKER TOUCH

Like the popular MultiTherm, the MultiTherm Touch features a broad temperature range to meet applications from denaturation of DNA to keeping samples cold (4°C) at the end of a protocol. An expanded speed range (to 3,000rpm), full-color touch screen, greater flexibility in programming and heated lid option set this new unit apart.

All operating parameters are easily entered and viewed on the large, full color, touch screen. Fifty programs can be stored, each including up to 5 steps. Programming features such as adjustable ramp rates, interval and directional mixing and preheat options can be set.
A “short” button allows for immediate mixing at maximum speed. Fifteen block choices accommodate samples from 0.2ml to 50ml as well as a variety of plates. Blocks are quickly and easily interchanged without the use of tools and are automatically recognized by the software. Insulation protects the users from hot surfaces and helps to maintain block temperature.

Condensation can have negative effects on delicate samples and reactions by changing the concentration of reactants. The heated lid option, available for use with tubes up to 5ml and microplates, protects samples by warming the air in the tube and preventing condensation.
